Join the #PancChat Twitter chat on Tuesday, May 31, at 5 p.m. PST to learn more about promising targets for treatments, such as immunotherapy; common risk factors, the different types of pancreatic cancer and new clinical trials.
The chat, which includes participants Allyson Ocean, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York Presbyterian Hospital, Let’s Win PC and the Lustgarten Foundation, will include highlights from the recent AACR Special Conference on Pancreatic Cancer.
This chat is the second in a planned year-long series, held the last Tuesday of each month. It’s designed to complement existing conversations in social media, drawing oncologists, healthcare providers, researchers and patient advocates to comment on a range of topics on pancreatic cancer. Future conversations will include key studies from ASCO and World GI research, treatment planning and goals, the importance of nutrition in pancreatic cancer treatment and in November, World Pancreatic Cancer Day. We’ll focus on ongoing efforts to raise awareness for the disease, particularly in the U.S.
“As a community, we are learning more every day about this disease and the latest treatment options for patients,” said Donna Manross, senior director of Scientific & Medical Affairs. “We continually look for ways to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer, and these chats are a great way to spark valuable conversations.”
